"Maiden City: the last collateral damage" Game Dev Diary #7 Corporation Intro - Frost Guard

I hope you are doing well because we are going on a field trip to the head quarter of Frost Guard!
The head quarter is located at the top tier of Maiden City where most of the big companies are.
In case you forgot, Maiden City is literally a bunch of huge floating platforms with buildings and people on them.
The head quarter of Frost Guard is called Frost Tower.
She's a combination of a commercial building and a military base, and also a residential area for all employees of Frost Guard.
She's easily the biggest and tallest building in Maiden City.
Frost Guard is a private military and security corporation and also the biggest armed force in Maiden City.
The customers of her military grade security services vary from individuals to corporations and the government.
The government of Maiden City doesn't have any kind of armed force.
They tried to found their own police department and army several times but the bill always got boycotted by the congress of which most of the congressmen and congresswomen are sponsored by Frost Guard.
The reason of the boycotts was because of the considerable amount of income and the exclusive enforcement power they can gain through providing their service to the government.
Although they are obliged to answer to the court, with all the political power they have, they are able to operate under the radar most of the time.
Security service isn't the only business they own.
They also own several subsidiary companies.
Energy innovation company, biotech company, armament industry and several companies in other fields.
The Guard Family has been owning her since the beginning of Maiden City, back when Adell Guard was still alive.
Now it's Dedric Guard, Alyson's father, who is in charge.
He has led Frost Guard into countless battles against the outsiders, as the results, Frost Guard now controls the majority of rare earth element resources and precious metal resources and several strategic positions over the world.
On the other hand, the tension between Maiden City and the rest of the world has been growing every single minute and Maiden City has come closer to yet another total war with the whole world.
However, Maiden City wasn't always the bad girl you see now.
Back in 2022, when she stopped the WWIII, the world was crazy in love with her, and also Frost Guard.
Frost Guard was founded by Adell Guard to act as a temporary armed force of Maiden City originally.
She brought peace to the world as Maiden City brought freedom to mankind.
You must be curious about how they became what they are today.
Unfortunately, that's that kind of story that everybody in Maiden City heard of but nobody actually knew.
Just like every other urban legends.
The only copy of true and complete story is stored in Eden's head.
Historians have been negotiating with her for years but she simply wouldn't reveal the story.
You will know It's not about money or the interest of anyone if you know her.
It's simply because the story of Maiden City was a painful process of watching the fall of a group of good people, including her loved one.
Years of betraying and deceiving until there were no one she knew left, and she was left behind with a decayed city, which is and will always be her home, all alone by herself.
She has been the most valuable asset of Frost Guard since day one.
One can even say she's the brain of Frost Guard, she's Frost Guard herself.
Speaking of Eden, do you know that the cafeteria in Frost Tower serves her favorite food everyday?
That specific food is Maiden Pancake and it is also one of the main dish of Maiden City.
It is said that one of the Maidens invented it.
It looks all fluffy like Japanese pancake on the outside, and the difference is that it's always stuffed with something else.
That "something else" can be literally anything, depending on how brave you feel today, and depending on the stuffing you go with, you can make the pancake itself sweet or salty.
It's a dish not only loved by the privileged Mads, the upper class of Maiden City, but also the common Mads.
It's actually the spirit of Maiden City, which is the freedom of choice itself if you think about it.
With the extremely advanced synthetic printing technology, the cooks are able to print any kind of ingredients and make them into the dishes the customers asked for.
Why wouldn't they just print the whole dish out?
Well in some cases they do, especually among the common community, but I guess most people still like to know there's efforts put in their foods.
