"Maiden City: the last collateral damage" Game Dev Diary #9 Character Intro - Alyson and Eden back in 2088
Hello everyone!

Today we are going to learn more about Alyson.
We can't leave out Eden when talking about Alyson since they are technically inseparable.
Back when Alyson was only 8, Eden was still a robot.
Here we can see how they looked like back in 2088 comparing to how they look like in 2099.
You can see Alyson holding the haie circuit on her hands instead of having on her head.
The hair circuit was a gift from Eden, and what it does is creating a limited non-contact force field that hold the hair together just like a hair band does.
Alyson was studying in the Academy at that period of time and was enrolled in elementary program like other kids her age.
She did far better than the others because she had already learned most of the content the program offered from Eden before.
That was the age she first met the best friend of her life, who was a family friend's newlywed wife.
For some reason, she left Alyson three years later without saying goodbye to her and that kind of scarred her since she was her first and ever friend she made.
But that's another story.
Eden has been her caretaker from the day she was born, and has been filling the mother role after her mother passed away.
Eden was programmed to not only serve the Guard Family but also Frost Guard.
Even if she's no longer a program-driven robot anymore, she's still living by those rules.
Serving the Guard Family and Frost Guard has always been a honor to her and also a way to honor her demised master, Adell Guard.
There's an interesting fact about Eden.
She was originally programmed to have an Italian identity only to satisfy Adell's unusual appetite toward Italian food.
But why bother building a whole identity when she could just install a cooking program and the recipes, you might ask.
Well, if Adell were to answer the question herself, she would probably say "Halfway takes you nowhere. If you are buying a roller coaster, you better build an amusement park around it or you might as well not having it since you will soon be worn out by the lack of possibilities."
Alyson has rather similar values as Adell, according to Eden.
They both value their responsibilities and people around them very much, and they both see Eden more than a servant robot.
When Adell first made Eden, she was trying to create something that can help her build a country in the war that was right at the corner.
Eden was her savior, she couldn't do it by herself, even with all the other Maidens.
Eden helped a lot in commanding the army and keeping the operation running.
And that's why she was called the zeroth Maiden back then, while Adell was the first.
At the time Alyson was born, Eden didn't feel much about her since this occurrence wasn't any different from the endless birth and death cycle she had witnessed all these decades.
It was until Alyson's mother passed away that she started to get closer to little Alyson.
She then realised that Alyson was unbelieveably similar to Adell in so many ways.
It might be for the education she's giving her or it might be the blood flowing inside her.
Once she saw it, it couldn't be unseen.
She started to treat her like she was Adell, the only person she ever loved.
Alyson grew up just well and became a fine young woman she was supposed to be.
She has been working on becoming the new Maiden who will bring the light back to this country.
